Someone we know decorated her
daughter's empty walls with those duplicate shower and wedding gifts
suitable for framing. One of many, colorful, amusing, often
unuseable, non-returnable, and always flat, they fit neatly into
ready-made frames and hang on the walls of her kids' first home.
Before they've had a chance to accumulate much, their only legacy is a
closetful of sometimes still-wrapped gifts.
How many challah covers can they use? And, some are too precious, some too bizarre, and finally some are too many.
Dishtowels are always appreciated, but some we'd like to continue to
appreciate. Put into service they'd fade into forgetting before
long. Better to put the fancy ones into frames and let the plain
Janes dry the dishes.
